ISLAMIC EDUCATION TEACHERS AS CONSTRUCTIVE MEDIA IN CHARACTER LEARNING IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Teachers as a constructive medium in forming student character. The teacher becomes an intermediary or medium that makes students understand knowledge about character and behave with character. This research aims to describe and analyze the contribution of teachers as a medium for character learning at MTs Misbahul Ulum Jelbuk Jember. In this research, the research method uses qualitative methods. The results of the research show that: 1) teachers are a medium of knowledge that makes students understand knowledge about character in Islamic religious education subjects. The teacher delivers the material by explaining the material in as much detail as possible so that it can be understood and comprehended by the students themselves, which of course still refers to the learning methods that have been determined; 2) the teacher as a motivational medium that motivates students to have characterful behavior by the teacher telling stories with character from the companions of the Prophet SAW. etc; 3) the teacher as a role model who makes students always imitate the teacher's character, such as behaving honestly, being kind and so on.
