Mathematics is an important subject in education to develop problem-solving, analytical, systematic, critical, and creative skills. Students often have difficulty understanding the Cartesian coordinate system, so effective learning media and an open-ended approach are needed to improve their understanding and learning achievement. The orientation of this research and development is to produce open-ended-based learning media using PowerPoint. The stages in the model developed by the Alessi and Trollip procedure are the planning, design and development stages. The results of the development of learning media obtained are (1) the learning media have met the criteria of validity, (2) the learning media developed have met the criteria of practicality, (3) the learning media developed can be said to be effective because students can solve all the questions perfectly. This research produces learning media that are suitable for application in learning mathematics on cartesian coordinate material at the junior high school level.
